As we conclude are time with the Sermon on the Mount, we turn to Jesus’ final teaching. In this teaching, Jesus speaks directly to us. It’s like he pauses for a moment, then looks us right in the eye and asks, “What will you do with my sermon?”

The image of the two houses is not about people who call themselves Christians and build on the rock and everyone else who builds their lives on sandy other worldviews.

If you look at the text, the people who build on the rock and the people who build on the sand both heard Jesus’ sermon on the mount. This tale of two houses is about us and it is for us.
