The Character of God: What’s Love Got to Do with It
Kevin delivered the second of three introductory messages for potential summer worship series topics. He encouraged everyone to vote for the topic that they want to focus on for the summer. Paper ballots are available at the church, or you can vote by clicking this link https://forms.gle/EXfmUnSj2FaGXwRX9. You may vote as many times as you want but only one vote per ballot.
This Sunday was on the character of God. Kevin explored the concept of agape love, distinct from other forms of love, emphasizing its role as covenantal faithfulness and the foundation of a life surrendered to God. Kevin discussed how agape love unifies the body of Christ and addressed the challenges of living out this form of love in a contract-based society. He referenced the Corinthian church’s struggles with division and selfishness to illustrate the importance of agape love in building a unified community. The sermon concluded with a call for the congregation to reflect on how they might be led by God to minister to others and strengthen the body of Christ.
