Pentecost Vision

Preacher:
Passage: Acts 2:14-20
Service Type:

On this Pentecost Sunday, we are looking at Peter’s words to the crowd in Jerusalem.

The disciples were Jerusalem waiting and praying in an upstairs room. Acts 2 tells us that the disciples saw tongues of fire separate and land above each of them. The outpouring of the Holy Spirit had happened, and the disciples were given a new vision.

The disciples ran into the streets fluently speaking in different languages. The crowd wanted to know what was going on. Some are convinced the disciples are drunk.

Peter stands up and says, “They are not drunk. It is only nine in the morning.” Then Peter quotes the Prophet Joel about sons and daughters prophesying, the young seeing visions, and elders dreaming dreams.

In this message, we will explore three questions.

1. What kind of dreams and visions are we talking about?

2. How can we know if what we are seeing is true and of God?

3. What might a Spirit-inspired vision or dream look like?
