Why did God create me? If God created us, then we were the products of God’s intentional design. If God intended for us to have life, then God must have a purpose for us.

In Rick Warren’s bestselling book, The Purpose Driven Life, Warren says that the first purpose for our creation is for God’s pleasure. The word “pleasure” is used a few places in the Bible in reference to how we treat God. A more frequently used word in the Bible is “delight.” Another word that used 57 times in the Bible is “bless.” We were created to bless God.

I’m not sure we think much about blessing God. We think about God blessing us. We pray for God to bless others. But have we ever thought about God inviting us to bless him? This is what we find in today’s Psalm, “I will bless the Lord at all times.” What does it mean to bless the Lord at all times?
