What’s Love Got to Do with Kindness?
Kevin delivered a sermon on the second week of their summer worship series “The Character of God,” focusing on 1 Corinthians 13 and the importance of kindness. He emphasized that true kindness goes beyond trivial gestures and is revolutionary, drawing from historical examples of early Christians using kindness as their primary evangelism tool. Kevin highlighted four key points about kindness: its importance in affirming every person’s worth, the need to cultivate a heart posture for kindness, the requirement to slow down and make space for acts of kindness, and its role as part of a broader revolution against cruelty and polarization. He confessed his own tendency to be task-focused and rushed, missing opportunities for kindness, and called the congregation to join in a “kindness revolution” where small acts of love can transform the world.
