Lessons in Leadership
This Sunday, we are looking at Moses for some lessons on leadership. What’s great about Moses’ story is that nothing about him says leader. He was an 80-year-old goat herder with a speech problem. He was not a charismatic person with an MBA who was destined for stardom. Yet, God called Moses to be the leader of Israel. The point, of course, is that God often chooses the most unlikely people to become his leaders.
The story of Moses has hundreds of great lessons on leadership, but we are going to focus on four lessons.
- The importance of a compelling goal that is worth living and dying for.
- The need to persevere in the face of adversity.
- The willingness to develop other leaders, so others share the work.
- The need to maintain humility before the Lord.
